The hardest part is getting this olive oil down until I used lemon ice cubes. I'd previously frozen fresh lemon juice which I put in a blender along with olive oil. I also had my gallbladder removed before I knew better, so that makes my liver work harder. My nutritionist is watching me (Iridology/Computer diagnosis) so I don't end up with Diabetes like my mother and her sisters. My last visit told me my liver was very stressed. I am currently doing the following Liver Cocktail: 1 cucumber, 1 slice raw beet (1/2"), 1 apple, cored, Squeeze 2 lemons and 1 lime, 2 Tbs EV Olive Oil. Mix in juicer and drink. This "allows" the liver to get rid of what it should not be holding onto, and nourishes the liver. It does not act like a harsh liver flush. I have done this before and it worked well. I need to do it more often than every few years. My mother was on insulin at my age. So far, no Diabetes with me. Fortunately, I am not Type "O" blood, so I can go all Vegan if I want to, but I need a lot of Protein (for other genetic problems), so I probably won't.
